My name is Anastasia. I’m 26 years old. Earlier this year my family and I escaped from Mariupol. Last year I married an officer from the National Guard of Ukraine. He is 27. When the Russian military invaded Ukraine, my husband was already stationed at the Azovstal plant. During the systematic shelling and aerial strikes, he received multiple contusions and wounds. Currently, he is being held in captivity as a prisoner of war. I am so worried about him. I don't even know how he is doing.
We are heartbroken that our home has been destroyed. We can never go back. But I am so grateful that we were able to evacuate to Boryspil. It is a miracle. My parents, my brother, and the rest of our family are safe in Boryspil. I am afraid for my husband though. I pray for his release from captivity.
I want to thank MPI for the food supplement we received through Hope Church. Pastor Alexander and his team have been kind to us. I don't know how we would have survived without the help and support we received. Please pray for my family and for my husband as we continue to live through this terrible time.
We have been working with the team from Hope Church in Boryspil to feed people a hot meal every Sunday after the church service. But we are also helping them travel around from village to village once a week taking food and other aid. Many villages surrounding Boryspil were occupied by the Russian army earlier in the war. For now, the army has left, but the villages were left in ruins. The villagers need help to survive. When the team visits each village, someone faithfully counsels and prays with anyone who is open. People are desperate for hope.

I'm so happy that we were able to help frightened and hurting young women like Anastasia. We gave her a simple food bag. Pastor Alexander and his team (one of the team, Pastor Igor is shown above) have impacted their hearts. Together with you, our donors, we continue to restore lives broken by devastation and war. You are changing lives in Ukriane!
