Warming Homes in Kremenets

We have been supplying firewood in several communities in Ukraine as we watch with dismay at how their electrical grid is being systematically decimated by missiles. We are now seeing electrical outages in every community.

In the town of Kremenets, we have worked with Pastor Alexei from Water of Life Church to provide heating assistance to several families, all of whom were displaced by the war. Here is the story of one of those families.

Alina is a wonderful and kind woman. She and her family were forced to leave Kherson. They worked hard and sacrificed to buy a house but soon after they did, the Russian army invaded, and the region was occupied. They had to leave their new home, and everything they worked so hard for behind.

They started on a journey to Europe, but their car broke down near Kremenets. They couldn’t travel any further so took this as a sign that they should stay in Ukraine. The suffering that Alina and her family have gone through could fill an entire book.

Today was an important step toward their healing and survival this winter. With MPI’s help, we purchased 3 tons of peat briquettes and delivered them to their new home. This family will be warm all winter long thanks to MPI donors.
