Reaching Kids in Rural Ukraine

Updated: Sep 8, 2021

One of our favourite places to visit in Ukraine is a group of small villages in the Belaya Tserkva area. There is a church in Kyiv that has laboured to plant a new church by reaching kids and families in this area. They travel there every week ministering to families, serving humanitarian needs and reaching the hearts of the children through outreach programs. Here are some of the messages we’ve received from the team over the last few months.

Meet Vika & Anya

These girls also have a brother named Denis. This family is highly dysfunctional. Their mother, Alla, and her husband spend a lot of time drinking. During her latest pregnancy with Anya, Alla drank a lot and had very poor nutrition. As a result, Anya was born with six fingers on one hand. We were able to see that she got surgery to fix this. Now, we bring whatever gifts we can, while we pray for this family to open their hearts to God.

Meet Ruslana

We have been working with Ruslana’s family for several years. She is one of the first to attend children’s services in Stepove. Ruslana loves to read Christian books. Her family is very poor. Ruslana’s parents both struggle with alcoholism, and sometimes Ruslana has to go to her grandmother’s house to get away from the troubles at home. This helps her can concentrate better at school.
